SPRING GALA AT MID-HANTS RAILWAY
04.MAY 2006

The first event of the the year saw some bright sunny weather even if it was rather on the cold side. Driving there in the morning, the car thermometer read -5 degrees!

There were several visiting locos present at this event.

30075 USA or 'Yankee Tank'
A Yugoslavian built USA type 0-6-0 tank formally of Jugoslav Railways JZ 62-669. It was rebuilt to Southern Railways/BR USA Class Dock Tank specificationin the mid 1990's and has been operating for East Somerset Railway since June 2004.

55 Stepney LBSCR A1X Terrier 0-6-0T built in 1875 at Brighton was visiting from the Bluebell Railway. It replaced 672 Fenchurch which was unavailable for the weekend.

96 Normandy LSWR B4 0-4-0T built in 1893 was also visiting from the Bluebell Railway. Normandy was operating freight services during the weekend.

41312 LMS Ivatt 'Class 2' 2-6-2T built in May 1952 at Crewe returned to Mid-Hants Railway after a loan of several months
to the Bluebell Railway.
