2009 - MID HANTS DIESEL GALA

4th June 2009

08032 ready to start free 08 cab rides at Ropley	Class 117 departing Ropley towards Alton	37905 Class 37 arriving at Ropley from Alresford...	.. while 56098 & 33053 are pulling into Ropley from the Alton direction at 11am
Then at 11.30am the train returns to Rolpey from Alresford	73201 'Broadlands' & 73107 'Spitfire' on the platform at Ropley	At Medstead & Four Marks Class 122 W55003 failed on it's 1st run. Here it is attached to the Class 117 which will push it to Alresford. The timetable was very delayed after this breakdown.	Class 117 departing with the Class 112 at the front.
'Spitfire' & 'Broadlands' pulling a freight train into Medstead & Four Marks...	..as 56098 & 33053 arrive with passengers at 12.30	At Alresford the Class 122 is parked on the cattle dock while 37905 waits to depart	The Class 122 is now chugging on the cattle dock, next to depart.

It's been 4 years since there was last a Diesel Gala at Mid Hants Railway.

The Mid hants 'Thumper' was back in service after many years work by volunteers. The Class 205 DEMU is out and about again :))

In addition to the home fleet, there were visiting engines including
a Class 37...... 37905
2 x Class 73's....... 73107 'Spitfire' and 73201 'Broadlands'
and a Class 56..... 56098 'GRID'
