| BEECH HURST MINIATURE RAILWAY 2009
HAYWARDS HEATH WEST SUSSEX The new year started in the usual way with the club meeting up on New Year's Day and running some of the locos on the track. The weather was extremely cold this year and many members had suffered from flu over the holiday, so they sensibly stayed in the clubhouse where it was nice and warm. The young members did brave the elements and enjoyed themselves on the track. The regular 2009 season started early this year in mid March, when we had some warm sunny weekends. Easter Sunday on 12.April was an OK day and Easter Monday became warm and sunny, which helped to make up for Good Friday and Saturday being cloudy and damp. Sunday 17.May was the day the Chelmsford Society of Model Engineers visited Beech Hurst. They arrived in the rain, but soon the sun came out. Unfortunately when 2pm came round and it was time for the public to ride, the clouds returned and by 3pm the rain too. Nevertheless the visitors enjoyed playing on the track giving rides to a few hardy members of the public. Thank you Chelmsford for your friendship and all your enthusiasm!
