BEECH HURST MINIATURE RAILWAY
2008

The 2008 season opened on Good Friday 21st March, the first day of spring. Unlike last year with the warm sun, there was a very cold wind and members had to wrap up warm.

On Sunday 6th April there was snow and although it was quiet on the railway, there were a few passengers.

On Sunday 18th May the Chelmsford Club came to visit. This time the weather was kind to them and it was good to see them again with an interesting selection of locos.

The weather in the summer of 2008 has not been kind, so it has been good to have some sunny days in September.

On Saturday 20.September there was a visitor from Guildford, with loco 443.

On Sunday 21.September 2 friends from Chelmsford brought 2 locos, 234 'Yorkshire' and 92220 'Evening Star', which worked hard pulling passengers round the circuit.

Due to glorious weather on the weekends 11/12th October & 18/19th October, we were treated to the railway operating extra time at the end of the 2008 season.

When the running season has finished, there are plenty of maintenance jobs to be done.
